Hi everyone,
During my GMAT Online exam, I experienced a flashing green border around my screen as soon as the Lock app and GoTo Meeting were launched.
Despite multiple restarts and following the proctor’s instructions, the issue persisted.
I tried to cancel by the second question, but the proctor didn’t respond for two minutes.
Forced to continue, I struggled to read the questions, which severely impacted my performance.
GMAC gave me a retest voucher, but they haven’t confirmed:
I suspect GoTo Meeting played a role since I don’t recall using it in my previous successful attempts.
I am leaning toward taking the exam online again, but I’m very concerned about encountering the same issue and having no way to resolve it.
Has anyone experienced this?

- What caused the issue or how to prevent it.
- If I’d get another retest if it happens again.
- If a cancellation would count toward my five-exam in a year limit (because the last one counted! - Can I appeal this?!).
I suspect GoTo Meeting played a role since I don’t recall using it in my previous successful attempts.
I am leaning toward taking the exam online again, but I’m very concerned about encountering the same issue and having no way to resolve it.
Has anyone experienced this?
- Any fixes or workarounds?
- Can I request Zoom instead of GoTo Meeting? (GMAC told me it's mandatory.)
- Should I switch to a test center to avoid tech issues? (I’ve only used the whiteboard).

Hi. This is a slightly unusual issue.
Your canceled exam should not count toward your five test limit since you did not finish it and it got refunded.
I’ve never heard about this challenge or disruption before so I don’t think it’s common but it may depend on your software version if you using Windows or perhaps Mac.
PS. I just googled your issue to see if other people have experienced the same problem with go to meeting and it seems this could be an indication of bandwidth constraint? I’m not saying it is but googling brought up this result 🤷♂️
