Regarding prep courses, in addition to seeking advice in this thread, take a look at the GMAT Club reviews for the best quant and verbal courses, and also read through some GMAT success stories to see what materials have worked well for other test-takers.

You also may find it helpful to read this article about how to score a 700+ on the GMAT.

Good luck!

Hi nitboi,

To start, the GMAT is the same consistent, predictable Exam that it's always been - so you CAN train to score at a higher level. In addition, since COVID became an issue, Test-takers now have the opportunity to take an At-home version of the GMAT (instead of having to schedule at - and travel to - a Test Center). There are some notable pros and cons of this new option, which we can discuss later on, but it would first help to define your current timeline and goals.

1) When are you planning to officially restart your studies?
2) Did you use any other study materials during your prior attempt besides the course that you listed?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Since its been approximately 2 years since you last studied for the GMAT, it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test (so that we can get a sense of your current skills, strengths and weaknesses); you can access 2 CATs for free at www.mba.com. Once you have that Score, you should post back here (or you can feel free to PM me directly) and we can discuss the results and how you might best proceed with your studies.

Hello Guys,

I had given my GMAT in 2020 (620) and had to postpone my next try due to some work commitments. I am planning to restart my prep for the 2nd try and hopefully land with a 700+ score. Any advices on the most effective online courses (I had used the Experts Global material during my prep in 2020) would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi nitboi,

While looking for a course there's the obvious factors that one looks for - cost, content and teachers. But I'd recommend that you look for some other factors as well.

1. Look for a course that not only teaches you concepts but also teaches you the application of these concepts. GMAT is a test of application skills and as such this is a crucial factor. A course that teaches you a structured way of solving questions is very important if you want to score 700+.

2. It should provide you with a clear and structured study plan. Your focus should be only on learning and not struggling with what and how to study. Look for a course that provides you with the guidance for the same.

3. It should give you detailed feedback on your performance and show you exactly where you can improve

4. It should offer doubt solving support along with dedicated mentors who guide you throughout your GMAT journey.

This article would give you a detailed insights:
Key factors to consider while evaluating the right course

The best way to decide is by checking out the free trial offered by most test prep companies to get a fair idea of what suits your learning style the best.

I would recommend you to check out the free trial of GMATWhiz before taking a call. It provides you with real time improvement modules after every practice quiz along with additional concept videos and practise quizzes which helps you overcome your weaker areas in a specific topic right away without having to put in additional effort to identify your weaker areas. Hence, the platform provides real time insights on your performance, highlighting your strengths and weaknesses while providing a road map to improvement. Hope it helps!
