Hello Everyone,
Since so many members on this site are currently attending b-school or have recently graduated, I was wondering if some of you could answer this question for me. I am looking to pursue a dual degree MBA/ Master's of Urban Planning. This means of the schools I plan to apply to this fall I will be applying to two programs per school. Some MURP ( Master's of Urban Planning) programs will accept GMAT scores while others will not. In talking with admissions representatives, current students, MBA consultants the general consensus seems to be that B- Schools prefer the GMAT to the GRE. A couple individuals told me however that as a dual degree applicant with a built in reason for taking the GRE it most likely wont count against my application. I haven't taken the GRE or the GMAT yet. I have been studying for the GMAT the past couple of months though. I honestly have no preference currently between the two tests. I feel more comfortable currently with the GMAT but that is mainly due to familiarity. For a dual degree applicant would it make more sense to just take the GRE? or should I perhaps take them both? ( If possible I would like to avoid having to take both tests). Thanks for any feedback.
