Gmat payment error

Question

Did any one faced an error while booking slot for gmat exam.
I am getting error as- failed/ try alternate method while using visa card, getting same error repeatedly. need help

Hi,
Might have something to do with the banking regulations in your country. For instance, if you are in india only a few banks allow international transactions on their debit cards.

My passport surname was Vxxxx
And my surname in the transcript is V....How ever I can change the GMAT name same as passport but will that diff be an issue at the time of admission

Hi  madgmat2019 ,

You  must  make sure that your name and date of birth match what is in your passport. Reach out to Pearson support to get your mba.com registration details changed. This will not affect your applications.

Hi AjiteshArun i can change my gmat name as in passport but the issue is my surname in passport is Vxxxx but all other certificates transcripts have just V as the surname

So should have to apply for a surname change in the passport?

so much of disturbance before the exam, couldn't concentrate on prep with all these issues

Just clarified from passport office that surname must contain Vxxx or blank.
so i should be keeping Vxxx, no other option.

1. As far as GMAC are concerned, your name is tied to your ID, which will be your passport (for international candidates). 
 
2. The payment error may be linked to use of the new type of debit card used in India. 
 
GMAC states that they do not participate in debit card programs that rely on OTP pin verification. They suggest that you contact your bank to either lift the pin restriction or use another card without pin verification. 
 
Debit cards are accepted. You can also use prepaid cards that function like debit cards.
