My question is, have you taken any sort of diagnostic test to see where you currently stand? I guess I'm wondering if the one on one tutor is essential to success on the GMAT.

Now, for the actual question, I don't know much about tutors, but strictly for a changeup, I wouldn't use the same company for the tutoring that you used for the class.

Great responses. Thank you. I agree that going back with Princeton Review doesn't do too much in terms of new material. But, the focused attention through one of their premier tutors, which is the highest level of one-on-one tutoring they offer, may still be worthwhile. Regardless of things at this point, the Princeton Review was worthwhile for since it has been a while since I touched most of this GMAT information. I was just curious if anyone had good things to say about anyone else besides PR. I have been away from the "standardized test" area for a while and only hear Kaplan and PR.

Thanks again, Friends!

I am assuming MGMAT refers to the Manhattan GMAT program . I just researched that at it appears that it is of a higher caliber. They say the practice tests are harder than the average GMAT, which is good news for me. I am looking to ace this thing. Any other advice or suggestions for stepping up into the 700+ level would be greatly appreciated.

I have decided to pursue the MGMAT classes. I took an 8-session Princeton Review class and want to determine which private tutoring session is better. I am aiming to take the test at the end of January and they offer a 15, 20, or 25 hour tutoring class. I know the test and have taken many practice tests so I am curious which class you all may feel is better suited for my timeline. I know my strengths and weaknesses so perhaps that might help. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

The 25 hour tutoring package seems excessive. Remember that once you grasp the basic concepts, the way you will really raise your score is by practicing all of the problem sets and reloading and taking the GMATprep exams until your eyes bleed. LOL. If you already know your weaknesses, that's an enormous plus. Have you taken an online exam yet to see where you stand? That would be the best gauge for you to determine which package would be best for you, I think.

Hi, this is my first post but have reviewed many. One quick word about this club: You all are very selfless in your attempts and desires to help others out and I thoroughly appreciate it. I've learned alot just by reading your posts.

One question: For X-Mas, I am being given the gift of a one-on-one personal tutor. Who or which company does anyone want to recommend or advise to stay away from? Kaplan, Princeton Review?

I just took a Princeton Review class for 8 weeks and want to ace the test so not sure I should go back to them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend considering Manhattan Review, both for classes and for tutoring. They offer small class sizes, intensive and thorough preparation, and, dare I say it, knowledgeable and dashing instructors.
