Hi alexau,
These recent scores show that you have a strong ability in both the Quant and Verbal sections. At this scoring level, the GMAT becomes really "sensitive", so it doesn't take much to gain or lose points. To that end, you really have to define WHY you get questions wrong. Since you're using an
error log, you probably already have a list of "missed" questions, which is good. At this level though, the issue isn't often going to be about "content knowledge" - it's going to be about little/silly mistakes. In the Quant, how often did you get a question wrong and think "that's MY fault, I made a silly mistake?" In the Verbal, how often did you get a question wrong because you "narrowed it down to 2 choices, but 'guessed' wrong?" You were really close to the correct answer, but you were still one step away. Precision is the key - take notes, do work on the pad, do NOTHING in your head, etc.
I'd like to know a little more about how you've been taking your CATs:
1) Do you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections)?
2) Do you take your CATs at the same time of day as your Official GMAT?
3) Do you finish any of the sections early?
4) Have you taken any of the GMAC CATS? If so, then how did you score?
