Hi everyone,

I have recently attempted to do the two practice exams GMAC provides one with, when you register for the exam.
I have gotten really frustrated during practice exams once i found out, that the number of the current question in the top right corner seems either to be completely not working or completely random (As I guessed a number of QR questions bcs of it, in fear of not finishing on time).
EXAMPLE: I can be at question no 31 and it will show "19 of 31".

Does anyone else have this issue? Do I need to count the amount of questions on my own and is this little box with "19 of 31" displaying something completely different? Does anyone know what this could be caused by if it is supposed to show the number of the question?

I haven't been able to find a clear answer, perhaps it is something with my OS (I am using a new macbook). I really fear that this will be the same on the actual Online Version of the exam and it might compromise my performance due to unnecessary panic / not knowing how much is left.

Thanks for any responses or help!

I experienced this while I gave my second free official mock test. The only mistake I did was, I have paused the exam for a reason and the question numbers went haywire. So I didn’t attempt the test. There’s an option to reset the two official tests. I have reset it and gave the second mock again n I didn’t pause the test in between for whatsoever. It went smooth. So what I would suggest is, just reset the tests, and give the exam in one go.

Hi DeWalt,

Did you give the folks at GMAC a call to try and get these issues sorted out?

Yes it is exactly this, once you stop the exam it resets the question number counter to 1 and even if you were at the 8th question out of 31 it will say you are the 1st, making the completion of the test with proper time management practically impossible or extremely difficult.

Unfortunate situation with this error. Hopefully, GMAC resolves it soon.

How to get a V40 or higher on the GMAT? What about a V51?
