Hi Ic0830de,
In these types of situations, it's important to remember that if the REAL Goal is to get into your first-choice School, then you should be thinking in terms of how best to make that happen. At this point in January, we're relatively 'late' in the application cycle for most Programs - meaning that there are fewer open 'spots' and you'll be in competition with a larger group of people (re: all of the wait-listed applicants as well as the new ones who are applying for the upcoming deadline). If you don't have a competitive GMAT Score yet - and the rest of application is not already well-put-together - then it might actually be best for you to wait until the next Round 1 (which is usually August/September for a 2024 intake).
Since you're ultimately asking Admissions questions, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to act on that advice, the better). There's a Forum full of those Experts here:
https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
