we can write y = (x+a)(x+b) as

y = x(x+b)+a(x+b)
= x^2+bx+ax+ab
= x^2+x(a+b)+ab

from statement 1. we only know the value of a+b= -1 so insuff

similarly from statement 2. ab=- 6 which is also insuff

combining both we get y = X^2-x-6

solve and get the values so C...............
