hi all - first and foremost - i would like to thank everyone who is part of this website!
Even though i havent sat the GMAT, this website has helped me in so many ways already.
the main reason for this post is as follows:
i have been reading about a lot of ppl using the MGMAT practice papers as benchmark before sitting te real thing.
A lot of ppl who have posted are getting scores of 680+ on these MGMAT papers.
I work full time and i started studying about 6 wks ago. I completed the quant questions in the OG and did some verbal. I did MGMAT CAT 1 and 2 and am getting a score of 580. Bar the careless mistakes in some Quant questions, the problem areas i have identified are mainly in verbal!
I am not able to improve my score in RC and SC at all!
I would appreciate if other members could share their experiences and give suggestions/ advice.
i havent registered for the GMAT but aim to sit it in 4 wks time. I intend to do some question practice during the week and 1 or 2 papers each weekend.
My target score is 700+

For SC, bottom line you gotta have MANHATTAN GMAT'S Sentence correction guide. It's absolutely phenomenal.
An important note: take your time when reviewing SC. Make a note of AT LEAST one grammar issue in each of the sentences you did not choose as the correct answer. Most people choose an answer, then go to the answer key and if they're right, they go on to the next one. If they're wrong, they see why the correct answer is correct and then move on. DON'T DO THIS..
Sentence correction is a GAME OF WRONGS .
When you get an SC question write down this:
A
B
C
D
E
when you're viewing the questions, if you see an error, immediately cross off the choice. This is crucial for me in the harder questions (and long questions)
RC I haven't mastered yet, but I typically hear to take notes on at least the first and last sentence of each paragraph and crank out as many questions as possible so that you don't get fatigued on the test.
GMAT fiction helped me a lot with fatigue since I didn't typically read every day before prepping for the GMAT
