Correct idiom is 'as much A as B'; Eliminate A & E
'it' cannot logically refer to 'energy'. We want to say 10 times as much energy as generated now than was generated in 1990; Saying that 10 times as much energy as generated now than it was generated in 1990 is incorrect.
Eliminate B & D
Answer C.
