Yes, unfortunately the system is quite limited - if anything it should keep track of detailed statistics and show the applicant where and what they have missed (to level the playfield with test prep companies for those applicants who use only the official materials). I guess the assumption is that you will be using the test prep resources...
Let me write to the GMAC I guess (since I really don't have anything else to do. HA!)
Again, not in their interest to help you score well.

Haha it seems you seriously have hatred for the GMAT inside you.
But I have to agree with one thing that GMAT's official material does raise some questions. I mean, why does OG 11 and OG 12 have such a significant overlap, when the GMAT does change questions every 30 days or so ?
More importantly, why do the Paper tests have the same questions as OG 11 and 12 ? The first set of 3 Paper tests has almost no new questions that differ from OG 10, 11 and 12.
But believe me the GMAT is much, much better than some of the other competitive exams. If I were to compare it with CAT (Common Admission Test), which is known as one of the most difficult competitive exam, I would say that the GMAT is better anyday. It is more sorted and atleast you have a say if something goes wrong.
