Hi!

Today, i did the GMAT PREP 4, and the result shocked me.

Can you help to explain.

I got 7 incorrect questions in Verbal then got 38 in Verbal.

Of those, 4 incorrect questions are SCs and 3 are RCs

3 out 4 SCs are hard questions (The difficulty is from 55% to 75%)
3 RCs are in different readings

The number of question wrong is 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th , 24th, 29th and 36th

Is 38 in Verbal really refects my score? Because, in other gmat prep tests , i invaribly scored 40 to 41 in verbal

Thanks and best regards

Pls check your other gmat prep tests wrong questions sequence. In this test you got 4 questions wrong out of first 10 questions. Impact of getting any question wrong in 1st set of 10 questions is more than getting any other question wrong in last set of 10 questions. First Impression is last impression in GMAT ..LOL

Hi ChuHoaiNam2505,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. Your GMAT score is based on not only the number of questions you answer correct/incorrect, but also the difficulty of those questions, among other things. Thus, if your verbal score slightly dropped it’s like that you go one or two easier questions wrong. In any case, it’s only a 3 point drop from your other practice exams, so just be sure to spend time reviewing your mistakes, and see how things go on the next practice test.

Does the penalty for getting an easy question wrong outweigh any reward a correct hard one may give?
