Before joining any institution, try to study on your own. Go to Mba.com and download the gmatprep. Give it as a diagnostic test and start your preparation accordingly.

Meanwhile you can start surfing the links on the forums. At the top menu check the Self-Prep links.

You should maybe give a shot at a diagnostic test? That would help you gauge your weaknesses? Maybe self-study would be enough?

I wonder if self-study or under instruction works better? I mean, if a person is just starting to study for this test, will it be more beneficial to take a course, which will fully orient the person to the test and its intricacies. Or studying on one's own, which has done wonders for many members of this forum. That might be a good idea for a new thread. Unless of course one has already been started. Good luck whichever way you decide to go!
