Easy way to find would be: Go and attend a classroom class (almost all coaching companies offer free trial class); attend a couple of online courses (almost all companies offer some module free of charge).

That way you would get to know whether your preference would be classroom, online or none at all!!

HI All,

I am planning to take GMAT this year. I am an average student, I would like to know If I am required to enroll my self into a class room training or an online course.
I am confused on how to start preparing for the GMAT. Please advice.

Thanks !!

Hi yuvaraja,

Enrolling in any course is purely optional. Once you pay for the test, all you are required to do is show up for the test and take it.

Many students are unfamiliar with the tricks and awkward types of questions that show up on the exam. Some look towards the OG13 book as a sample of questions. But when that's not enough, students often look towards prep courses. These days, online courses are the way to go - especially if you want to save a buck or two. However, those who feel more comfortable with in-person classrooms may choose to register for the more expensive classroom courses that meet on, say, a Saturday morning over the course of several months.

It can be done by the good old self study too. My signature has a link to my de-brief; it may give you tips and tricks on how to do it yourself!

While online class courses or recorded video lessons are good the best way to prepare for a challenging test is private tutoring.

Only in private tutoring you will get the full attention of the instructor and you can concentrate on your individual weaknesses. In class courses this is not possible.

If you want to fully exploit your potential then go for private tutoring solutions
