GMAT Preparation and Strategy

Question

Hi everyone, I am starting my GMAT prep from today, I gave an official mock to see where I stand and I score 585(80Q, 78V, 79DI). My aim is to achieve 705+ and I want to give my exam by the end of August. I do not want to purchase any course as such and I do have the resources of Manhattan Prep and Official Guides. I am also open to buy practice questions and Mock Tests like GmatClub Tests kit. I want to know how to go about the entire prep to achieve the desired score. If anybody has any suugestions, it would be extremely helpful.

Maybe some quick tips you can take and you may also get a sense how long/likely different scores jumps may be.

Since you do have the resources and since it seems that all the three sections need to be significantly improved, please pay equal emphasis on the resources for each of the three sections, do extensive practice (from OG and GMATClub) and periodically assess your improvement, by giving official mock tests.

For example, let's consider your study of Number Properties. First, immerse yourself in all aspects of this topic, and then, focus solely on Number Property questions. After each problem set, take the time to delve into your incorrect answers. This self-reflection is a powerful tool that allows you to understand your learning process and make significant improvements. For instance, if you made a mistake in a remainder question, ask yourself why. Was it a careless error? Did you not apply the remainder formula correctly? Was there a concept in the question that you didn't grasp?

By meticulously analyzing your mistakes, you will efficiently address your weaknesses and, consequently, enhance your GMAT quant skills. This process has been unequivocally proven to be effective. Number Properties is just one example; follow this process for all Quant, Verbal, and DI topics.
