Hello Friends,
A little bit of past - I took my first GMAT on August 2012 and scored a very dismal 640(Q44,V34). I had been scoring 640-720 during my practice exams during my first attempt. With that poor score of 640 and a new job offer, I decided to put a hold on my MBA dreams.
Now, I am 28(5 years work ex) and work as a Business Intelligence Specialist with a top American Defense Contractor. I have reached a point in my career, where I need an MBA to go forward in my career.I gave a GMAT prep diagnostic test now(without any prep) and to my surprise I got the exact same score that i had got on my 1st GMAT attempt i.e. 640 !! - (Q44,V34). On reviewing the test, I found that
Quant:1) I got 18 questions wrong !! I mean I couldnt believe it. Of the 18, 5-6 were very easy questions that i couuld solve without time limit. Most of the questions that i got wrong were DS questions(12 to exact).
2) I got many Number Systems DS Questions wrong.
Verbal:1) I got 10 questions wrong.
2) Of the 10-5 questions that i got wrong were from RC.
So friends, could you please help me with a strategy for DS problems. One more question- How many questions can i get wrong in Quant and still get Q49-50?
Also for Verbal, Can anyone help me RC (Strategies/Courses/etc.)? Also any pointers to increase CR accuracy will be quite helpful?
Please also share with me what extra should i do to break free of 640 range and go to 700+ score range?
Thanks
Chetan
