Hey there !
Its good to see that you have started thinking about GMAT, bit late though. But better late than never

To give you a kick-start, I would advise follow the below steps :
1. Give a free practice test
one free test you can give by registering to any coaching website like princeton, manhattan etc.
They would just ask you to register as a user and one test would be free.
2. That will help you analyze where you stand and how you should go about it. You will know your weaker areas etc.
Once you know what you need to work on, you can enroll in any coaching program, or just get the books Princeton, Manhattan or Kaplan and start studying. Also, there is Official Guide for GMAT and Official Guide for GMAT Verbal as well which are quite comprehensive.
3. If you get a good score in your practice test (which is not usual case). I would recommend you trying to change your GMAT date a bit and target December End may be as you might just be able to apply to Round 2 of couple of schools as round 2 deadlines are around December and early january generally. So you can start working on the app parallely based on your profile and expected GMAT, you can target few schools.
4. Or if ou are weak in GMAT then probably you can target next year which actually gives you ample time to work on other things in your profile as well if you have any specific target schools in mind.
That would be a good way to start. Let me know if you have more questions.
I would be happy to anser them here or also you can check out my website
www.globalmba-gyan.comIts an initiative started by me to help MBA aspirants free of cost and mentor them to reach where they want to be. You can have a look and if it looks interesting, just drop a message from the contact us link on the website and I would be able to help you from there,
Totally up to you....

All the best for your GMAT !
Cheers !

hello,
I m from hyderabad doing my internship in a CA firm.I recently decided to start preparing for gmat exam. I know its already too late for preparation and i have decided to write sometime in feb15,so basically i might be losing out in applying to many colleges. I actually have minimal knowledge about this exam plus i dnt have any people in my circle to clarify my doubts about it.So i m posting few of my start up issues here as i m completely in state of confusion about how to go about this course. I went through all the possible articles/posts relating to gmat but it would be of great help if someone clarified the following queries:
1.Should i join some coaching classes or are online classes +reference books are enough?
2.Plus after giving my exam if in case i do get a mangeable score, then how do i know where should i apply?(sorry but seriously i have less idea about the colleges too

)
I know these are the queries which i can google and get the answer for(which i have actually done),But the more i read about it i get more confused. I really would like a personalized suggestions so that i can be really sure how to go about it.
