+1 to what bb mentioned.

RC is scary to a lot of us because it feels like this vast, dense forest with no reliable way to hack through leading most us to use hammers to knock down trees in a brute force kind of way. (Sorry, weird analogy xD)

You should definitely check out the Manhattan Guide to RC. They have covered quite a few useful strategies such as looking for specific key words or transition words in the passage, trying to summarize each paragraph as you go along, and more. As you are scouting through the forum looking for advice, be sure not to fall for gimmicks such as reading only the first sentence of the paragraphs and other weird advice.
