while solving such RC problems one thing I observe is my poor vocab
While GMAT is not really a test of "vocab", there do seem be certain words that seem to be GMAT favorites, when it comes to RC.

In our classes, we take students thru the following such GMAT favorites in RC passages (obviously not exhaustive):

Implication
Critique
Evaluate
Phenomenon
Qualify a claim
Debunk a theory
Subordinate
Emancipation
Hypothesis
Anachronism
Revisionist
Classical, Neo-classical, Contemporary
Civil Rights
Feminism
Patriarchy
Native Americans/Indians
Suffrage/enfranchise
Engender

Hope this helps.
