GMAT Registration

Hey Everyone,

I would like to know that if there's an availability for a seat for a test center, then how close to the test date can we register for the test?
For instance, can we register like 2 or 3 days prior to the expected test date? Or is there any time frame for which we cannot register before a date?

Hi raffaytarar,

This is the 'busy' time of year for GMAT Testing Centers, so you will likely have to plan far in advance to get the exact Test Day and Time that you're interested in. That having been said, some Centers are less busy than others and could have open 'spots' available in the short term (and Test Takers sometimes pay to reschedule their Exams - when those moves are made, spots DO open up at those Centers).

So, to answer your question, you COULD conceivably book your Test Date just a couple of days in advance. Considering the importance of the GMAT score to your application(s) though, you'll probably want to book your appointment far in advance.

The objective answer to your question is yes.
However, if we take it subjectively, then there might be a possibility that you may not get the date which you need and this might result in anxiety before the test.
You sure would not want that to happen before the test. Hence the best way is to book a date well in advance.

I have registered for GMAT in the morning. Please let me know if I should expect a confirmation email or any kind of detailed email from GMAC regarding the exam as i haven't received anything yet. The dashboard is updated with the exam date but does not give any other information.

You should have received an email, but you need only a valid ID to take the GMAT at a test center. That'd be a valid passport (for Indian test takers). Name and DOB must match.

If there is a delay between the time you register your Official Test Date and receiving confirmation of that appointment, then the likely reason is some type of delay in the 'billing.' As such, you might consider reaching out your bank/credit-card-company to confirm that you are the one who made the purchase and that it is a legitimate purchase.

Maybe their mail servers are slow. The website has definitely been a little glitchy lately.

You could (a) check your spam folder and (b) reach out to Pearson to confirm that your appointment has been scheduled. The email itself is not important (all you need in order to take the test center exam is a valid ID).

Thanks a lot everyone for your support. I have received 2 emails, one of invoice and other of confirmation of exam appointment.
