Hi CJT,

Decoding the GMAT language!! From the discrepancy between your verbal and math scores as well as the particular math subject matter you said you have had difficulty with I would say that you need the most work on developing more precise and elegant ways of summarizing verbal information as well as some mathematical concepts.

Let's start with verbal. I would not continue to take new tests but I would go over your old tests and tell you to certain exercises with them. For RC and CR, rewriting all the questions in a very short summary style. You need to distill the most important logically dynamic points, and not get hung up on details which you can always go back to. Goal: your summaries should be 1/3 the number of words of the passages.

For math, create your own glossary of terms. The issue that most people have with number properties is a certain fuzziness of thinking in regards to their definitions. Most GMAT books do not create fundamental worksheets to really clarify defnitions and that fuzziness is overlooked at the very beginning is what leads to the most problems when you try to answer the harder questions.

thanks,

Clearmountain

Thank you Kyle, neha and clear mountain. I will do as you say. I have also started to created my own error log to see the mistakes i make repeatedly. I read in several posts that this is good way to understand the mistakes.
