Hi,
I took my Gmat exam on December 14 and I scored
650. (Q-43, V-36). My accuracy in Quant dipped pretty much from my previous attempt. I took Verbal first and Quant next. While doing the Quant section, my head stopped working and I couldn't even do basic questions properly. I took a lot of time in the first two quarters and because of that, I had to hurry up in the last two quarters. Though there is an improvement in Verbal from my previous attempt from
V 27 to V 36, in quant, I messed up. It went down from
Q 48 to Q 43, which is low. Even after my quant section was over, I knew that the quant score would be low. My SC accuracy improved to 95% and in RC it improved to 84%, while in CR it was 66%. While doing CR, it was comparatively taking more time for me. In Quant, my weak point is Geometry and Counting/Sets/Series. And how should I improve my CR accuracy? Also, I took a mock on the day before the exam, so is it possible that my brain wasn't able to function properly on the exam day while attempting the Quant section?
Previously, I took my GMAT exam on October 13. And I scored
620 (Q-48, V-27). My accuracy in verbal was quite low from what I was getting in the mocks.
Honestly, I am quite devastated right now seeing such a huge drop in my Quant score. I was planning to apply for R2 for the Sep 2024 intake, but I am not quite sure if that will be possible. Preparing for the GMAT for two attempts simultaneously along with a full-time job was quite tedious and exhaustive for me.
I am sceptical if I should switch to the GRE instead of the GMAT.
Or should I take a break and after that start preparing for the GMAT focus edition?
Or should I instead attempt the current edition of the GMAT for one last time before it expires on Jan 31st, 2024?
Please guide me so that I can improve my verbal score from
V36 to V40 at least and my quant score to
Q50/Q51 from Q43. I knew that day's quant score wasn't a justification at all for my quant abilities. And do you think it is possible within a month if I plan to take the current edition one more time before it expires? If so, can you please share a detailed study plan for me considering my weak areas and things I need to focus on?
Below, I am attaching the ESR of both attempts for your understanding. Kindly have a look at both of my ESRs and let me know what areas I need to focus on and how I should do that.
Can you please guide me about my future strategy? It would be beneficial for me.
