UkrHurricane
Hello everyone. I am an undergrad from Ukraine. I have just passed a GMAT the second time and scored 590( Q49, V23). At my first attempt I scored 580( Q38, V32). My verbal and quantitative scores are reversed, although this time I worked the same way on verbal part as I did last time. The only difference was that this time I prepared more for RC( the worst section in my first attempt). But again, I also worked on SC and CR. Materials used for practice were official only.
Two times I got GMAT fee waiver, so I am not sure I can afford the third attempt. Nor am I sure I can prepare for the test anymore, I srarted doing worse at my university.
I am not sure what to do.
Any advice?
Thanks!
Hi UkrHurricane,
Sorry to hear about your experience. I think you should give it one last try before you give up. Your previous Quant score of Q49 shows that you definitely had a bad day in your second attempt. Try to focus more of your prep in Verbal. You can go through this link to help you prepare better.
https://gmatclub.com/forum/best-gmat-ve ... ml?fl=menu. There are also tons of free resources available here on GMATCLUB so make sure to use them well before your exams.
I must add that if you are particularly looking to discover and improve on your weak areas in Quant; a subscription to
GMATCLUB tests is the best way to do that. They are indeed phenomenal and will not only pinpoint your weak areas but also help you improve on them.
Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP,
Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.
Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practice tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.
I would also encourage you to purchase the GMATPREP QP 1 for some great additional practice.
Hope this helps. All the best.
