Haha, the pros and disadvantages of scoring that high.... scoring 780/790/800 is all about luck.

Speaking of which, I wrote a GMATPrep Test2 today.

Overall 780
Q: 51Q (5x) - 60 mins
V: 47V (4x, 2 SC 2 RC) - 40 mins

Still sick, plus had friends around for the last 20 q's on verbal so was distracted a bit.

I saw some ridiculous Quant questions I've never seen before, including a DS with 4 variables and about 4-5 absolutes & inequalities.... I think it was:

if a<y<z<b is |y-a|<|y-b|? Is y closer to a than it is to b?1) |z-a|<|z-b|
2) |y-a|<|z-b|

definitely a 50+ Q question

The RC's I didn't read the passage properly, and the SC's I second guessed myself-- my initial choices were correct.

Going to practice SC, review some Quant problems and do a Paper Test tomorrow.

Be sure to understand that |x-y| is the distance from x to y.

A is correct.

BTW, how did U deal with verbal section for only 40 minutes?

Did 21 SC today from SC1000

17 right, 4 wrong. Completed in 13 minutes. The errors were just stupid mistakes-- one of my clients showed me a list of idioms a class gave her, and I saw between X *OR* Y on there, and I started to second guess myself and picked that. Of course between X OR Y is always wrong (should be between X and Y).

I didn't do too much else today, bought some jeans, a jawbone 2, some lightscribe dvds to burn questions onto for clients.... worked the phone for 4 hours today, 7 clients ahhh. I should double as a shrink.

Tomorrow I have 2 appointments, maybe 3-- then if my brain is still working I plan to do 3 hours in the evening.

Oh actually I'm going to review those Quants I got wrong yesterday. There were 2 good ones that I can learn from.

Ok, FINALLY feeling better. I had some ridiculous viral infection and then my sinuses were clogged, and as anyone who has ever had a sinus infection knows, you can't study too well : )

I might study a bit today. The date is definitely creeping up-- 9 days! Yikes.

Here's the thing that ticks me off. LOGICALLY, we can assume they're all alive initially (otherwise how would Tina have a freaking name?). So in 4 years Tina would be at least 4, hence III should *logically* be true.

But, alas, the DS nazi who writes the DS questions says nope, you can't assume that.... so basically Tina isn't born yet.

So III need not be true.

So just remember, when doing age questions, don't assume the person is already born ;)

You're a tutor? How much are you charging? You meeting up at his/your house or at school? You doing this by yourself or through some kind of organization? Would be a good way for me to make some money.

As for the question itself.

I is obviously false.
II is oviously true.
And we need to have a closer look at III

R = Rose
S = Sam
T = Tina

Today Rose is twice as old as Sam and Sam is 3 years
younger than Tina. If Rose, Sam, and Tian are all alive 4 years from
Today, which of the following must be true on that day?

Formulas:
R = 2S
S = T-3

Then to see whether it has to be true, you can just plug in the lowest number you can think of that work.
R:2
S:1
T:4

4 years later:
R:6
S:5
T:8

Hence, Tina CAN be older then Rose.

I - Rose is twice as old as Sam
II - Sam is 3 years younger than Tina
III - Rose is older than Tina

A) I only
B) II only
C) III only
D) I and II
E) II and III

Does anyone have some hard Official questions Quant questions, ie tricky permutation/probability, geometry triples, etc?

Best of luck on your exam. One thing I would recommend would be focusing on the hard Quant questions you got right-- you're at 49/50, which means you're missing a lot of the harder questions. And of course I hope you're using GMATPrep, not Kraplan.

As for my business, I'm independent. I'd stay away from the prep companies. In fact, a lot of my clients come to me after having taken a prep course-- the prep companies care more about $$ than they do about results, which is why they rarely ever show how their students do.

I have 9 clients that I tutor in person, and have a waiting list as well, so I'm quite busy : )

With a 770 you can definitely tutor.

Plz can you tell me a place from where i can review some advanced number system questions...............i am struggling with it. Like the question was how many 3 digit no.s greater than 800 will be divisible by 3 i tried solving it by this method (999-801)/3 = 66 but the answer is 72 i suppose...... can you please expain it
