How to remember rules for SC. My general English is good so I started with the OG SC without mugging up the rules.Most I could manage but some with subtle changes got me wrong. I am having the 2019 OG and 2019 verbal review. How do I use the rules in the beginning of the chapter on SC in the OG? I had started reading it at first then found it mind boggling so skipped directly to the questions.

Well, turjya, you can always purchase a dedicated SC guide. The one by Manhattan Prep (the previous edition, the standalone book with a red cover) comes highly recommended in the forum. If you want to stick to the OG, you may find the explanations given in the latter part of the book to be of use. You can also look up the same questions right here in the forum to see what the community has to say about them. Finally, you may want to check out some of the work that GMATNinja has produced. His Beginners' Guides series and YouTube videos on all Verbal topics have helped many members grasp the ins and outs of not just SC, but also CR and RC.
I am more of a poke-around-and-play type of learner than a sit-down-and-memorize type, particularly when it comes to Verbal topics, so there is no shame in feeling lost when it comes to some of the denser material. I would only caution you against going through OG questions without any structure, hoping to pick up on all topics as you go... a method, if I may call it one, that is almost assuredly going to fail and will leave you in decent shape at best, but with one fewer resource from which to practice.
That should help you get started at least. Good luck with your studies.

I will recommend you to pick SC topic and practice questions of increasing difficulty level for that topic.
Manhattan strategy guides are good books for GMAT preparation including SC preparation.
