I got an e-mail with the list of schools I picked to receive my scores. All the schools that I have applied to have not complained.

Same here. For both the first batch of schools and my later add-ons.
Schools themselves don't verify. As a matter of fact, even though I had the confirmation e-mail from Pearson-Vue that Yale has my score, 10 days later when I submitted my app. status still showed "awaiting GMAT score".

I am not worried though. I guess the acid test is Pearson-Vue's e-mail.

The letter that GMAC/Pearson Vue sent is confirmation. And so far I've gotten an interview at Haas, an admit at UCLA, and an application complete at Kellogg, so it probably is valid :P
