Hi,
I took the GMAT yesterday, and I scored 620 (Q50, V23).
My verbal score is really low. I didn't have any timing issues as I completed both the sections 3 minutes before time.
I am just not able to improve my accuracy in verbal, I have been preparing for GMAT for 3 months.
Could someone please guide me on how can I improve my verbal score.
Thanks.
Hi anujagarwal11,
A score of V23 indicates a lack of understanding of fundamentals. Since you already have a stellar Quants score, you can focus all your attention towards Verbal. You need to drill down deep and understand your weak areas:
SC: The questions test various concepts such as S-V agreement, modifiers, parallelism etc. Find out what troubles you.
CR: There might be certain types of questions that are troubling you. May be Assumption, may be conclusion, inference etc.
You need to find that out and then practice them
RC: This again can be drilled down into different types of questions and also different topics. See what questions and topics trouble you the most and then practice accordingly.
1. What were your scores in the mock CATs?
2. Did you follow a preparatory course?
3. Did you complete the Official Guide and the Verbal Review books?
