Hi Vaibgmat

I presume that you have taken GMAT exam at test center. Please note that few Indian b-schools such as IIMs are not accepting GMAT Online scores. Having said that, ISB and IIM-A/B/C are the only top ranked Indian b-schools. With 640, you should give a try to all of these. Beware of the R3 deadline of IIMs; it is due soon.

Alternatively, you can retake GMAT anytime soon before application deadlines to take a chance to improve your Verbal score as you have been scoring much higher on official mocks.

Hi,
I got GMAT score of 640 (Q50 V27) [however I scored 700+ in all 6 official mocks, dont know what happened to verbal].

I am a project manager with 10+ years experience (2 years in software and rest in manufacturing industry). I have 9.48 CGPA (Rank-4) in my undergraduate studies.
I have won national level competition "National Competition for Young Managers" organised by AIMA. I was also a northern region level winner in another competition "National Competition for Managers" organised by AIMA.
I have 2 copyrights and one patent in my name.
I play Squash as a hobby.
I am part of core committee of Management Associations (that involve 1000+ industry professionals from 10+ corporates).

Please help and advise whether I can apply in any good institute (preferably Indian).

TIA

At the experience level that you hold, an abroad MBA is preferrable over domestic MBA. If you're looking for Indian Colleges, would recommend one year FT programs at IIMs rather than FT MBA at ISB. ISB has a program specifically for candidates with 10+ years work experience, however that's a part time MBA and not full time one.

If you're open to abroad programs try exploring the one year MBA programs. Also, there are full time programs tailored specifically for candidates with 10+ years experiences, unfortunately the GMAT score requirement is slightly on the higher end for those programs. However, you can explore those programs to evaluate if they fit your profile and post MBA goals well.

Apologies for the delay. We agree that the IIMs may be your best fit, but you have a lot of options especially if you are considering non-Indian schools as well.

You have received a ton of replies here on our thread. Can you share more about your interests? Does any of this feedback resonate with you? Are the IIMs your focus or are you expanding your search elsewhere? How are you tracking towards deadlines? Are you considering applying next year instead? If so, would a GMAT retake be a possibility? No need to answer these questions, but they are ones you should be asking yourself as you consider your options.

If you want to speak with someone who is an expert in Indian business schools, we are happy to set you up for a free consultation. Please register by visiting our website:
