Hey GMAT Experts,
I gave my GMAT EXAM recently and scored a 680. My target score is 720-740 and I am thinking of a Re-Attempt .
I have accepted my score at test center and now I am confused whether to cancel my score or not .
Since my official report will be shared with the five B-schools , so I am confused if I score in my target range in my next attempt , then the lower will also be shared with school.
Also If I cancel my score online , can I reinstate my score again ?
bb GMATNinja KarishmaB ScottTargetTestPrep680 is a decent score for most schools and a great score as 'back up.'
Cancelling (within 72 hrs) and re-instating (within 4 years, 11 months) is possible with additional payment though I would consider it unnecessary.
If you are able to up your score to 740, great. The school will get to see both scores but will consider the latest one since that shows your current ability. Besides, there is no reason to believe that someone with only one score of 740 is better than someone with two scores 680 and then 740 because they know that score cancellations are allowed. If anything, I would think that they would see your intent and ability to put in the effort to improve.
That said, multiple scores at the same level do not add any value (and may even take away some) so ensure that you are better prepared next time to hit a 730/740.
