Hi, I need some clarification about old scores. Will the new GMAT cancellation and reinstatement policy allow me to reinstate my old cancelled scores. I have never sent the score to any school. I am planning to re take the exam. If i choose to to cancel the new score, will my old score also will be cancelled?


My situation:
Gave GMAT on Aug 23 and got 660 which I cancelled.
I plan to give attempt 2 in October, if I get a score less than 660, will by first score still be eligible for reinstatement?

Kindly advise.

Thanks Janielle.
I have read those answers but there is no specific answer to my query on second attempt score. The answers on the official website pertain to first attempt in GMAT or relate to previous acceptance of the GMAT scores.In my situation I want to know whether my first cancelled score will still be eligible for reinstatement after giving my second attempt.

Hi nishant2890,

According to the new GMAC rules and policies, you can reactivate ANY cancelled score from the prior 5 years. Thus, if you have 2 cancelled scores, you can pay to reactivate either of them.

According to GMAC, “You have 4 years and 11 months from the day of your exam to reinstate your score. However, only exams taken on or after January 1, 2014, are eligible to be reinstated.”

Thus, you can reinstate your older score, if necessary. Here’s an article that discusses how to use GMAC’s cancellation policy to your advantage.
