If you were to guess on a hard question and get it right in lets say 30 seconds Vs solve the question and spend 2-3 mins on it and get it right, will the points rewarded on that question be the same? What I am trying to find out is whether the GMAT takes into account how much time you spend on a hard question to get it right.
thanks,
Sumit
Interesting Idea.
I have never heard about GMAC tracking time it takes to do the problem, but they track the overall time, so why not the individual....
It is supposed to be if you get it right, you get 100% credit - that's the generally believed algorithm.
The GMAT does NOT track time. If you get it right, you get it right. They track the overall time ONLY to limit you to 75 minutes. You get no brownie points for finishing early.
However, you DO get penalized for NOT answer questions (i.e., you get dinged more for a non-answered question than you do for one you get wrong).
