GMAT Strategy Recommendation
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Folks,
I need your assistance on the following:
I have been studying for GMAT for the last 4 months or so.At this juncture I have been attempting questions from Official Guide(OG) 10th Edition.I should have completed about 70-80% of the questions. To gauge my competence level,I took Test 1 and Test 2 off the PowerPrep Software.My scores are as the following:
Test 1-
Total Score:580
Quantitative:82%
Verbal:33%
+++++++++++++++++
Test 2-
Total Score:570
Quantitative:78%
Verbal:33%
+++++++++++++++++
I did see number of questions repeated from the OG book in both exams.Thus,I am wondering if the score is a true reflection of my ability.Or should I scale the scores down to get the true score?Is the Power
Prep the closest reflection of one's score in the real GMAT exam?
To move ahead I have done the following:
-->Quantitative:
a)Identified my mistakes in both exams.
b)Identified the pattern of mistakes.
c)Comapared this pattern with the type of mistakes that I made in OG.
d)I will be working with a MATH Tutor to address the conceptual and careless mistakes made in (a) and (b).
-->Verbal:
i)Identified that Reading Comprehension(RC) and Critical Reasoning(CR) are my areas of weakness.
ii)Need to Identify the reason for the mistakes that I made in these sections.
iii)Upon knowing that,I will be working to address the weakness.
iv)Collated all the mistakes that I have made for Sentence Contruction(SC) in both exams + OG.I will
be working with an English Tutor to understand the mistakes further.
v)Finish reading "The Elements of Style."

Please let me know your thoughts on the above.In addition,can you also let me know other practice exams apart from PowerPrep and ETS exams that can act as a good grounding for the real exam.Thank you for your time.Rgds,
Anna
