Hi Ahmad,

The Quant section of the GMAT isn't really a 'math test' (like the ones that you would have taken in High School or College); it's more of a critical thinking test that involves fairly straight-forward calculations. As such, taking an 'all math, all the time' approach will likely make that section more difficult to deal with. To score at the highest levels, you need a mix of solid math skills (although you don't have to be a 'math genius') and the Tactics, pattern-matching ability and knowledge of the little 'secrets' behind the Quant section. The same general perspective is needed to score at a high level in the Verbal.

Since you've been studying for just 2 weeks, you shouldn't expect to have mastered anything just yet. Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) on their studies before they hit their 'peak' scores, so you will almost certainly improve as you continue your studies. You should not wait to study IR before taking that first CAT. Just do your best when facing that section.

Thanks rich, where can i get the CAT ur talkig about?, what i meant by studying the quant section is that i did the GMAT ones on my princeton review book plus some of GMATpill.

The idea is to do the CAT to see the points of strengths and weaknesses and then u can assess based on that?

Hi Ahmad,

You can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). A FULL CAT (including the Essay and IR sections) takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

Hey Ahmad,

With a test date around March/ April, here is a customized 2-3 month study plan that can help boost your score: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... study-plan

Use this as a guideline. You don’t have to follow it exactly but the structure of the study plan should be the same structure that you take in your approach. This helps to optimize your retention and learning.

As you study, we recommend that you focus on one particular subsection for multiple consecutive days before moving onto the next. You can see this in our study plan where we recommend 5 days on nothing but SC -- before moving onto CR and then RC.

Here is a sample SC video to help you start your journey: https://www.gmatpill.com/sentencecorrect ... ythons.mp4

Best of luck- we are here to help.
