Hey All,
Wanted to get your guys honest opinion on my study plan. I am not that strong in Math so the Quant section really scares me, I have always been an avid reader so I feel like that may help me a little with Verbal, but again not taking lightly either. I really hope to get 700+ I've been doing a lot of research on these sites trying to figure out what kinds of books to get, what the best study method is, and what books will help me understand as well as get that 700+ (this was the bulk of my research that I feel I can still get help in).
this is what I came up with:
I plan on dedicating 3.5-4 months. 2.5 hrs of studying on workdays and roughly 5 hrs each day on the weekend.
Month 1 = Quant Review
Month 2 = Verbal
Month 3-4 = Broken down into 3 categories.
- Take Practice test
- Following the practice test, take 2 or 3 days to review it and re-learn whatever material.
- Use the other days to do high level problems from books that have been suggested to achieve 700+
Books:
I plan on doing a complete self study.
I have the Veritas Prep Books,
Manhattan GMAT, and OG '13th Edition
I was thinking I would use Veritas Prep in conjunction with OG to learn the material because from the reviews I've learned that these two do a good job of thoroughly explaining the material. I was then thinking about doing the practice problem from
MGMAT followed by Veritas and finally OG 13 after I have reviewed each topic.
for the months that I do advanced problems I was thinking about using the following books:
- Kaplan GMAT 800
-
Manhattan GMAT Advanced Quant
- The PowerScore GMAT Critical Reasoning Bible
If any method has worked better or if you see a flaw in any of my methods then please let me know! I would also greatly appreciate any advice regarding my study materials and suggestions on what may work better.
Thanks guys.
