Hi Shivam1809,

I want to reiterate something I mentioned in my prior post: the process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. Based on the information that you provided, you took 12 CATs in about 4 weeks - and that is far too many CATs. A 750+ Score requires a high level of 'precision' in your work; in simple terms, you can afford to get the really hard questions wrongs, but you cannot afford to miss anything else. The silly mistakes that you mentioned are a direct result of taking so many CATs in such a short period of time - and as a result, you are likely too tired to consistently perform at your best.

Thankfully, this is a rather easy issue to 'fix'; you should take no more than 1 CAT per week (and your last CAT should be taken approximately 1 week before your Official GMAT). In the interim, you can hone your overall test-taking skills, review your prior Exams, etc. Based on your Score data, you likely know everything that you need to know to hit your Score Goal. Going back to your first CAT (the 690 on March 25th), how many questions did you get wrong on that CAT that you now can correctly answer? What extra work (re: note-taking) do you need to do to be SURE that you get the question correct? That's the type of work that you have to do on every question that you face.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Thanks Rich, Noted.

Yes even I was feeling fatigued in the last few days.
I've decided to take a break of 4-5 days from the prep.
Then will thoroughly review and schedule CATs weekly.

Hi Shivam1809,

I’m glad you reached, and I’m happy to help. The good news is that you seem to be doing VERY WELL on your practice exams, so nice work so far! That said, I do think that taking an exam every 3 days is overkill, so you may want to cut back to just 1 exam per week, so you can spend time analyzing your exams to discover and fix your weak areas. In fact, since you have about 3 weeks until test day, you may want to take just 3 more official GMAC practice exams.

Regarding what else you can do to improve your quant and verbal skills in the next few weeks, you may find it helpful to engage in focused practice of each quant and verbal topic. For example, let’s say that you want to practice Number Properties. You can do so by answering 50 or more questions just from Number Properties: LCM, GCF, units digit patterns, divisibility, remainders, etc. As you do such practice, do a thorough analysis of each question that you don't get right. If you got a remainder question wrong, ask yourself why. Did you make a careless mistake? Did you not properly apply the remainder formula? Was there a concept you did not understand in the question? By carefully analyzing your mistakes, you will be able to efficiently fix your weaknesses and in turn improve your GMAT quant skills. Number Properties is just one example; follow this process for all quant and verbal topics.

Good luck!
