Hi all - I took the GMAT 6 years ago and it recently expired so I have to take it again before applying to b-school 
It looks like the prep material has changed in all those years. In the past I used Kaplan and Manhattan GMAT prep books. I've also noticed a number of mobile apps like Prep 4 GMAt but don't know how good the content is.
What do you all generally recommend we use now?

hey there - yes, the material has changed, though MGMAT is still one of the market leaders. they just released their 6th edition of the books. Veritas Prep has really stepped up to the plate in the last few years and made a formidable competitor to MGMAT.
Kaplan, books probably have not changed much since you have taken the GMAT.
OG has had 3 new editions, so worth picking up a new copy (it now has online access to questions and IR section).
As to the Apps, there is not much noteworthy to mention. GMAC has released their official app, which is basically the OG questions on the mobile phone and it has killed everything else. GMAT Club has a free and paid app (it allows you downloading questions from the forum into a DB to practice). Veritas actually offers one of their courses free on the mobile - worth checking out.
I would say on the mobile side of things, things are a bit dull and dated.... sadly. GMAC has killed all the demand with a lackluster app that everyone gets and immediately gets turned off.

Thanks bb! I have downloaded about 10 GMAT apps from various startup companies.
I'm not sure how reputable they are but before I dig in was wondering if you or the forum had any suggestions. Do they have professionals on staff creating the questions or is it a bunch of college kids pulling questions together around the web? I want to get a sense of whether I can trust some of the non-brand-name apps in the app store.
