Hello everyone,
Today, I experienced a wave of disappointment when I saw the score 490 flash on my screen. I've been preparing for more than 5 months, and these were my mock test results:
GMAT 1: 650 (re-attempt)
GMAT 2: 640
GMAT 3: 630
GMAT 4: 630
GMAT 5: 590
Manhattanprep: 590
I'm feeling really lost and uncertain about what's going wrong. I can't tell if it's the fear of the examination hall or if I'm making some mistakes in my preparation. This was my third attempt, and I had set a goal of achieving at least 650.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could share their experiences or offer advice on how to overcome such a challenging situation. Thank you!

Hello,
It's been 9 months since I started my prep for GMAT and here's what helped me.
1. Keeping the underlying concepts and basics clear before attempting mock.
2. Post the exam, a keen analysis of results trying to understand where you went wrong, where you are lacking, and getting an overview of un-clear concepts so the preparation for the subsequent mock could be focused on the troublesome concepts.
Manhattan Prep Mocks pose some challenging Quant questions, so don't beat yourself too much around that. However, it's a great tool to really get you ready for the exam.
It's been 9 months since I started my prep for GMAT and here's what helped me.
1. Keeping the underlying concepts and basics clear before attempting mock.
2. Post the exam, a keen analysis of results trying to understand where you went wrong, where you are lacking, and getting an overview of un-clear concepts so the preparation for the subsequent mock could be focused on the troublesome concepts.
Manhattan Prep Mocks pose some challenging Quant questions, so don't beat yourself too much around that. However, it's a great tool to really get you ready for the exam.

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. Before we discuss any of those potential issues though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
1) On what dates did you take each of your 3 Official GMATs and what were your scores (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?
2) How long have you studied in total? Over the last 3 months, how many hours did you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used over the course of ALL of your studies? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
If you took your Official GMAT at a Test Center, then you might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
