Hi,

I am in the starting phases of the GMAT. I haven't done any prep work and scored in the 400s on the practice exam. The plan is to take my GMAT between September- November so that I have enough time to apply for Round 2 admissions. I have a steep learning curve ahead of me and am considering a 1:1 tutor. I am currently looking into Veritas and Varsity Tutors. Does anyone have any recommendations/ advice?

Thanks for all your help!

Hi asi,

Since you're in the early phase of your studies, it's not clear whether you actually "need" a tutor or not. Before you spend a lot of money on that type of resource, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) What study materials do you currently have?
2) What was your exact Score on this CAT (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

Goals:
3) What is your goal score?
4) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi asi,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. Are you only interested in in-person tutors or would you consider working with an online tutor? In addition to working with a tutor, what resources do you plan to use for your prep?

You may find my article about how to score a 700+ on the GMAT helpful.

Feel free to reach out with any further questions.
