Many developing coutries' MBA programs are starting to require GMAT...so many of the international GMAT test takers are probabaly not even applying to the same schools as US GMAT test takers.
Although international applicants are competing in their own pool anyways. If you check Ross's website they list the number of applicants accepted from each country China/India consistantly has ~30 people each year. My friend at Chicago GSB also confirmed that # of Chinese national accepts from the last two years were the same.
So yeah probabaly not a huge increase this year in terms of applicants. Although every year is a tough year for top schools.

Its no surprise that there is an increase in the number of people taking the GMAT per year; and the increase in applications to B-School.
But what was the percent increase for total B-School slots for this past year? The top 25 schools might not be taking on more students, but this isn't entirely true for the rest of the programs. Each year a few more MBA programs are created, and many recently established schools are still rapidly expanding. Maybe these numbers will help offset the increase of test takers.
Can anyone chime in?
