Great debrief. Very detailed and had fun reading it.
Looks like verbal was your inherent strength going into the test.

Good luck with your apps

Agreed. I hadn't done math in years and early on I was way too dependent on doing SC by ear, so addressing those gaps was my primary concern. Early on, 50% of my study time was dedicated to math and 50% to SC. Once I had memorized all the key SC rules and done enough problems to ingrain the common patterns in my head (i.e., after doing several hundred SC questions over the course a month or so (not too difficult to do if you 20 or so SC a day a re-review your mistakes at the end of the week)), I shifted to a more math-centric study schedule. During the two week period before the test, 60% of my time was spent on math, 35% on practice exams and a small amount on SC and general verbal review (I got most of my verbal practice through the practice exams).

That was awesome! I'm talking about the post, not the score (which is awesome too :-D). Very helpful debrief with lots of tips, great job!

Hi Slingfox,

I work for Veritas Prep, and I was surprised to read about your experience with us given how much emphasis we put on hiring and training only the best GMAT instructors. Can you send me a PM? I'd like to hear more about your experience.

Best regards,

Slingfox, did you feel that the gmatclub's math challenge provided the best and most accurate form of practice for both GMATPrep and the actual Gmat? Currently, I have been doing the MGMAT prep tests, and I have scored a 45 on the quant and 36 verbal. I would prefer a math score of 47 on the MGMAT, and I feel like the Manhattan quant is harder than GMAT prep. I havent taken a GMAT Prep recently (within the last 3 months). My goal on the actual gmat is a 49+ on the quant and 40+ on the verbal.

Excellent post by the way.
