Hi guys,
I just took my first GMATprep practice test after studying the quant section of the OG for the past week. I worked through each of the PS and DS questions and reviewed the ones that I got wrong in order to fully understand them. Well, I got a 580(41Q,28V), which makes sense because I haven't even touched the verbal section of the OG12 yet. The school I'm applying to (Georgia State University) only requires a 600, so I know I'm close to my goal. My question is this: Is the GMATprep score I got the closest representation of what my actual GMAT score would be? It seems like once I go over the verbal section of the OG12, I should definitely be able to break 600.

The answer is yes - it is the closest thing. If you only need 600, you are fairly close; spend a few more weeks on the verbal.
however, I would also grab a text book, perhaps Kaplan Math Workbook and possibly Kaplan verbal workbook - both will get you there faster.
