A couple of weeks ago, I had posted my gmatprep 1 results - 660 ( 48 q ,33 v ).
While my prep2 results are quite an improvement , I think I shot myself in the quant. Somehow I could not concentrate today on the quant and when i started seeing some easy questions at the half-way mark I realized I had goofed.
The verbal score has been a big improvement. One thing i did after the prep1 was to start thinking about time goals ie where should I be on the verbal after 30 min, after 60 min and so on. This has helped me pace things a bit better.
I still have a few weeks to go before the real thing. So at this point I will do some of the challenges to solidify my quant skills and continue doing gmatter questions + brutal sc.

Nice improvement! I took GMATPrep 1 yesterday, and scored Q45, V44, but only a 720. I'm not sure I will ever truly understand the GMAT scoring algorithm. It's probably best to just try to miss as few as possible, as others have indicated.

I'm starting to understand just how important timing is on the GMAT. I've gone from running out of time (a HUGE score killer) to going too fast (not so big a score killer).
I would guess that you could have all the core skills down solid, but without timing skills you'd have a hell of a time trying to break 700.
