Hello ,
I took my GMAT on 24th July and got a 650 . However i got a 710 in GMATprep (test 4 , 1st attempt) just 2 days before the actual test .
today again i gave an official mock (test 3, 2nd attempt after an year ) and got a 730 .
I am somehow not confident about my score . i feel that the questions in GMATprep are far easier than the actual test .
How should i gauge my performance ? how to know when to schedule the actual test if the GMATprep mocks are also not indicating my actual performance ?
Kindly suggest .
Hi Harshjha001,
There could be a couple of reasons for the drop in the score. Please go through the article below to find out the probable reasons:
The above article is a must read.
Having said that, GMAT Official mocks are believed to be the most reliable and closest one to the actual GMAT exam. It helps to gauge where you stand in terms of your preparation. Of course, you can expect a variation of +/-30 points mostly as a general practise.
Generally, here are a few things to do before booking your slot -
- Build & follow a proper study plan for your GMAT prep
- Be clear of what to study on any given day and by when you will be finishing your prep.
- Have a backup of one month to work on your weak areas
- Once done with prep, start taking mocks.
Once you start getting your desired score consistently, you can go ahead and book your slot!
So, if your score is consistently around your target score, you are good to go! Trust yourself enough!
Hope this helped and feel free to contact if you have any further queries.
