Both gmatprep and powerprep are free. They are available for download from mba.com. Alternatively, you can request for a cd version when you register for the test.

I downloaded both, it didn't make sense to me to request for the cd and make my desk more cluttered than it is now.

Anywya, the powerprep mimics the desktop experience when you do a ETS test. The gmatprep is new and attempts to give you some desktop experience when you do the pearson test.

These tests should be used as part of your prep. Do one full test (don't skip the AWA!) and see which areas you are weak in. This will help you to narrow down your preparation. After a while, do anohter set and see whether you have improved or still need brushing up in some other areas.

Thanks CLF!
Can I get this GMAT Prep from somewhere? Would doing those tests help?

I'm using Win XP but haven't got any problem. Let's wait and see if other members have encountered this and managed to solve the problem.

Hello everyone!
Does the 2 tests (GMAT Prep and Powerprep) contains the same questions?
If they are different, that means I have essentially 4 different sets of tests? 2 of each.

I like to know this fact before I attempt the questions in either one. Don't want to containminate my score...

they are CAT's , therefore they are adaptive to your responses, they are different and are sorted according to difficulty which you cant see , but the point is PP has 2 tests, GMAT P has 2 as well. questions appear in OG 10th and 11th editions.

Thans Kayser... One more question, since they are CAT, does that mean I can repeat the tests many times such that I have different questions each time?
Seems too good to be true...

yes u can take them as many times as you want, most questions will repeat though, but sinc ethey use question banks or bins, as your difficulty changes, chances are you'll get a few different quesitons. essays will be the same though.

I also have compatibility issues with powerprep. I have XP running on my m/c and when I try to run powerprep it says cannot find system file.
Has anyone solved this issue?

Thanks.
