Never heard of Least common Denominator? Is it same as LCM.

can someone explain how to calculate LCM,GCM for fractions ?

LCM is least common multiple. LCM of 4 and 6 is 12.
Similarly, if LCM of x/y and 1/3 is 6 then x/y is 6/1/3 or x/y=(18)k
y can be 2 or 6 in statement a and b.
