S1) x can be either .4553 or .4547 which would mean to the hundreth, x would be .46 or .45. INSUFF

S2) thousandths digit of x being 5 is INSUFF

S1&S2) X can only be .4551-.4554, which means when x is rounded to nearest hundredths, x = .46

I have a doubt regarding teh way u rounded of .4547 to .45
Why have u simple truncated 4 and 7 , to get the rounding off value..

... r we not supposed to round off.. one digit at a time.. starting from right most digit.

.. in this case..the flow of rounding of would be..

..4547

V
.455(4 at teh thousands pos. has to be incremented as it is followed by 7)
|
|
V
.46( as 5 at the hundreadth place is followed by 5 at the thousandth palce..)

therefore, A)
.. please corerct me if i m wrong.. as usual i m not comfortable with these rounding off questions..

Shinewine, I think when rounding to the hundreth, you only consider the thousandth, not the numbers/decimals after it
What is the OA?

x=0.4546 then rounded to the hundredth = 0.45
BCE

(2) x= 0.445 then rounded to hundredth = 0.45
x= 0.455 then rounded to hundredth = 0.46

CE

(1) & (2) x=0.455 Hence rounded to hundredth = 0.46
