Hi,

this has been discussed here
https://gmatclub.com/forum/inconsistent-score-gmat-prep-malfunction-282612.html#p2181306

GMATPrep quant is usually easier than GMATClub quant.
MGMAT quant is tougher than GMATClub quant.

Hi rushikam,

How many official GMAC practice exams have you taken? Can you provide the score breakdowns of each of them?

So, 40 points higher than your previous practice exam is not crazy. Let me know when you take the next one.

Hi rushikam,

The 'pool' of questions that comes with each CAT is somewhat 'limited' (meaning that you could potentially see a far wider variation of question types on the Official GMAT than you would see on any of the individual practice CAT Tests). That having been said, that doesn't inherently make one CAT 'easier' than another; it could be that you just happened to see a set of questions that were easier to deal with with your current skills. There are also a variety of other factors that can impact your performance, including how well-rested you were when you took the CAT, the time of day that you took it, the section-order, the testing environment, etc. All things considered, if you took this recent CAT in a fashion that matches up with the parameters that you will face when you take the Official GMAT - and you did NOT see any of the questions before - then it's likely that you earned that result. Of course, the more this CAT-taking-event differs from what you will face when you take the Official GMAT, the greater the chance that this result is 'inflated.'

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

ScottTargetTestPrep - Scored a 710 Q50V37 in the next one. Would like to focus on Verbal only now, hope this is a good decision.

EMPOWERgmatRichC - Yes, I did take it under test taking conditions and thanks for the insight.
