actually i selected that answer, but not 100% sure. wanted to see what others thought before i go and check the OA yet.

Its E i think. I factored.

xy + z = xy + xz

0 = xz - z
0 = z(x-1)

z = 0 and x -1 = 0

z= 0 x = 1
E.

But can anyone explain why plugging in won't work for this problem. If you plug in A will work.

Reduced to Z=XZ

B-c has y in it, and y really plays no factor in it.

I like E

i also reduced it to z=xz
i didnt set it to xz-z=0
i think thats where we both screwed up but chose the correct answer
need to isolate like variables before finding the values

possible answers for z=xz
1=1*1
0 = 0*0
anything = 1*anything

this is why i was a little confused and posted this q
