10 machines take 16 hours to do 1 job.
10 machines do 1/16 of the job per hour.
1 machine does 1/160 of the job per hour.

If we have 8 machines, 8*1/160 = 1/20. They will complete 1/20 of the job per hour.

Thus, it'll take 8 machines 20 hours to complete 1 job.

10 machines do a job in = 16 hours
1 machine do a job in = 10 * 16 = 160 hours
8 machines do a job in 160/8 = 20 hours

Let r be rate of each machine

Therefore given job takes 16hrs together...

i.e. 1/10r = 16 => r = 1/160


For 8 machines time taken = 1/8xr = 160/8 = 20hrs
